{"id":1164372,"date":"2026-02-17T23:07:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T18:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.app.com.pk\/?p=1164372"},"modified":"2026-02-17T23:07:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T18:07:08","slug":"dpm-dar-to-attend-high-level-un-security-council-briefing-on-palestine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.app.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/02\/17\/dpm-dar-to-attend-high-level-un-security-council-briefing-on-palestine\/","title":{"rendered":"DPM Dar to attend high-level UN Security Council briefing on Palestine"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM\/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit New York on February 18 to participate in the high-level United Nations Security Council briefing on the situation in Palestine.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting will be chaired by United Kingdom Foreign Secretary, in her capacity as President of the Security Council.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the briefing, the DPM\/FM will reaffirm Pakistan\u2019s principled and consistent position on Palestine, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He will reiterate Pakistan\u2019s strong opposition of Israel\u2019s recent illegal decisions to expand its control over the West Bank, emphasize the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, full implementation of Security Council resolution 2803, scaled-up humanitarian assistance, and the early commencement of Gaza\u2019s recovery and reconstruction.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DPM\/FM will also underscore Pakistan\u2019s continued engagement with international and regional partners, including the Group of Eight Arab and Islamic countries and the United States, in support of a just and lasting peace, anchored in international law, leading to the realization of the Palestinian people\u2019s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the margins of the visit, the DPM\/FM will hold bilateral meetings with counterparts to discuss matters of mutual interest.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM\/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit New York on February 18 to participate in the high-level United Nations Security Council briefing on the situation in Palestine.
