MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 13 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Cabinet on Friday approved cancellation of state subject and domicile of a member Legislative Assembly elected on refugee seat from Multan after declared illegally issued to him through fake documents.<\/div>\n

The cabinet meeting chaired by prime minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore also approved the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Service Tribunals (Amendment) Act, 2026, the revised budget for the Bag Development Authority for the fiscal year 2024\u201325, the estimated budget for 2025\u201326, and the allocation of state land (Khalisa Sarkar) for the establishment of Police Station Sharda.<\/div>\n

The State Subject Certificate in favor of Muhammad Asim Sharif Butt, son of Muhammad Sharif Butt, resident of Mohalla Androon Haram Gate, Mohalla Talhan Wali, Multan was declared fake by an investigation team and was on cabinet agenda to approve cancellation which was accorded approval.<\/div>\n

Chief Secretary, government secretaries, and other relevant officials attended the meeting. The Cabinet was also briefed on Mirpur Healthcare Hospital.<\/div>\n

Furthermore, the Cabinet constituted a committee headed by the Minister for Finance to review the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Khalisa Sarkar (Ground Rent and Lease) Amendment Rules, 2025.<\/div>\n

Addressing the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Rathore stated that the upcoming Overseas Convention would prove to be a milestone for Azad Kashmir. He described overseas Kashmiris as a valuable asset and said their suggestions would be incorporated into government policy.<\/div>\n

He emphasized that overseas Kashmiris would be encouraged to actively participate in investment, tourism, and welfare projects to accelerate the state\u2019s development process. The Prime Minister added that the objective of holding the Overseas Convention is to provide expatriate Kashmiris with an opportunity to play a practical role in the reconstruction and development of the state.<\/div>\n

He further said that the government was taking serious measures to resolve issues faced by overseas Kashmiris and to provide a conducive environment for investment.<\/div>\n

Prime Minister Rathore remarked that within a short period, the government has made efforts to restore public confidence and fast-track the development process. He stated that the Prime Minister, ministers, and bureaucracy remain accessible at all times to address public issues on a priority basis.<\/div>\n
