PESHAWAR, Feb 13 (APP): The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) national headquarters, with the help of PRCS Merged Areas branch, organized a Media Engagement Session on the Bajaur Humanitarian Response in Peshawar, bringing together journalists to strengthen collaboration and enhance public awareness of ongoing humanitarian initiatives.<\/div>\n

The session was conducted with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross and funded by the European Union.<\/div>\n
During the session, participants were briefed on key initiatives underway in Bajaur, including interventions in Health, WASH and Cash Assistance programs aimed at supporting vulnerable families in the merged districts.<\/div>\n

Chairman PRCS Merged Areas branch, Adv Imran Wazir, and Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch, Farzand Ali Wazir, addressed the gathering.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They appreciated the constructive role of journalists in highlighting humanitarian challenges and the needs of vulnerable communities.<\/div>\n

They expressed hope for continued media support in future PRCS initiatives, emphasizing that strong media partnerships are vital for promoting humanitarian values and ensuring that the voices of affected communities are heard.<\/div>\n

The leadership of PRCS KP and Merged Areas thanked the support from PRCS National Headquarters under the visionary leadership of Chairperson PRCS Mrs Farzhana Naek.<\/div>\n

Representatives from the PRCS National Headquarters Communication Department also participated in the session, including Sher Zaman, Deputy Director Media & Communication, and Rehan Ali, Assistant Director Media & Communication.<\/div>\n

Sher Zaman delivered a comprehensive presentation on the history of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, providing participants with an overview of the organization\u2019s humanitarian mandate and principles.<\/div>\n

A detailed presentation on the Bajaur humanitarian initiatives, supported by the Norwegian Red Cross and funded by the European Union, was delivered by Amjad Sohail, Program Manager, PRCS Merged Areas Branch.<\/div>\n
The presentation highlighted the scope, impact and plans of ongoing interventions in the district.<\/div>\n

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where journalists shared feedback and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting humanitarian communication efforts that benefit vulnerable communities across the merged districts.<\/div>\n
