ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather across most parts of the country on Thursday, with very cold and partly cloudy conditions expected in hilly areas during morning and night hours.<\/div>\n

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, dry weather will prevail, while temperatures will remain cold in the morning and at night. Gusty winds are likely during daytime.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is expected to experience cold and dry weather in most districts, with very cold conditions in upper areas during morning and night while northern parts may remain partly cloudy.<\/div>\n

In Punjab, dry weather will continue across most districts, accompanied by cold mornings and nights.<\/div>\n
Very cold and dry conditions are expected in Murree, Galiyat and nearby areas, while gusty winds may blow in central and southern districts during the day.<\/div>\n

Sindh will remain mainly dry, with gusty winds likely in coastal areas. Balochistan is also expected to witness cold and dry weather in most districts, while northern parts may experience very cold conditions during morning and night.<\/div>\n
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to remain very cold with partly cloudy skies.<\/div>\n

The PMD reported that during the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country.<\/div>\n
However, isolated rainfall occurred in Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Pothohar region.<\/div>\n

The rainfall was recorded in Muzaffarabad (22 mm in the city and 18 mm at the airport), Garhi Dopatta (13 mm), Rawalakot (8 mm), Kakul (13 mm), Pattan (12 mm), Balakot (10 mm), Saidu Sharif (2 mm), Murree (2 mm) and Attock (1 mm).<\/div>\n

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded on Wednesday included -5 C in Leh and Bagrote, -4 C in Kalam, -3 C in Nathia Gali, Astore and Gupis, and -2 C in Skardu, Malam Jabba and Murree.<\/div>\n

The major cities recorded temperatures ranging between 6 C to 23 C in Islamabad, 11 C to 25 C in Lahore, 17 C to 29 C in Karachi, 6 C to 25 C in Peshawar, 2 C to 18 C in Quetta and 2 C to 17 C in Gilgit, while Skardu remained between -2 C and 9 C.<\/div>\n
