ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Tuesday chaired a series of meetings at the Central Police Office to review security arrangements, administrative matters and ongoing police reforms in the federal capital.<\/div>\n

A police official told APP that the meetings were attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, DIG Security Muhammad Atique Tahir, AIG Logistics Abdul Haque Umrani, AIG Operations Shoaib Masood, along with SSPs, SPs and other senior officers.<\/div>\n

During the meetings, the IGP reviewed the overall security situation, police performance and administrative affairs, and directed officers to improve discipline, streamline office work and ensure timely performance of duties.<\/div>\n

The IGP emphasized that public safety and crime prevention must remain the top priority, directing officers to strengthen patrolling, intelligence-based operations and security at sensitive locations, including entry and exit points of the capital.<\/div>\n

He also issued clear instructions to further improve police welfare, including better residential and medical facilities for officers and personnel.<\/div>\n

The official said discussions were also held on training reforms, use of modern technology, Safe City surveillance systems and better coordination among institutions to improve monitoring and crime control.<\/div>\n

IGP Rizvi stressed that policing must be professional, transparent and people-friendly, adding that officers should maintain strong field presence and deal with citizens respectfully.<\/div>\n

Reaffirming his commitment, he said Islamabad Police would continue working to strengthen peace, rule of law and public confidence in the federal capital.<\/div>\n
