ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): A joint meeting of Islamabad\u2019s district administration and police on Monday focused on strengthening security arrangements in the federal capital, with authorities agreeing on enhanced surveillance, stricter monitoring and greater inter-agency coordination to improve law and order.<\/div>\n

Chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the meeting reviewed existing security measures and discussed steps to make the city safer in line with directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.<\/div>\n

Officials said monitoring at entry and exit points would be strengthened through expanded CCTV surveillance and modern technology, while patrolling across the city \u2014 including sensitive areas such as the Diplomatic Enclave and Red Zone \u2014 would be increased.<\/div>\n

Authorities also agreed on closer monitoring of suspicious activities, improved data compilation, and stronger coordination among departments.<\/div>\n

Officials said a door-to-door survey in urban areas had been completed, with work in rural areas nearing completion as part of broader security planning.<\/div>\n

Participants emphasised a zero-tolerance approach toward crime and reiterated that protecting citizens\u2019 lives, property and public safety remained the primary objective of the new measures.<\/div>\n
