{"id":1155540,"date":"2026-02-02T19:04:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T14:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.app.com.pk\/?p=1155540"},"modified":"2026-02-02T19:04:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T14:04:23","slug":"lhc-orders-release-of-eight-illegally-detained-labourers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.app.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/02\/02\/lhc-orders-release-of-eight-illegally-detained-labourers\/","title":{"rendered":"LHC orders release of eight illegally detained labourers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">LAHORE, Feb 02 (APP): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered the release of eight labourers who were found to be illegally detained by a local landlord.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard a petition filed by Zahida Bibi, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, who alleged that a landlord of village Thatti Murid had unlawfully confined nine individuals, including children, at his dera.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the proceedings, court bailiff Tanveer Hussain produced eight detainees before the court after recovering them from the landlord\u2019s illegal custody. The bailiff informed the court that the recovery was carried out during a raid at the landlord\u2019s dera with the assistance of local police.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the bailiff\u2019s report, the recovery operation was met with strong resistance from the landlord and his associates. After nearly 12 hours of effort, eight detainees were successfully recovered. However, one detainee, identified as Ghulam Nabi, could not be recovered.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taking notice of the matter, the court ordered the immediate release of all recovered detainees and directed the concerned station house officer (SHO) to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and ensure the recovery of the remaining detainee, Ghulam Nabi.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, the court had appointed Tanveer Hussain as bailiff with directions to recover all illegally detained persons and produce them before the court.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE, Feb 02 (APP): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered the release of eight labourers who were found to be illegally detained by a local landlord.
