ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari, Wednesday, reaffirmed Government of Pakistan\u2019s commitment to providing institutional facilitation and fast-track approvals to partner enterprises, and underscored the importance of deepening long-term cooperation in rail freight modernisation, inland logistics and integrated freight corridors.<\/p>\n

The president met with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World in Dubai, UAE.<\/p>\n

The president appreciated DP World\u2019s strong and sustained partnership with Pakistan and its contribution to the country\u2019s logistics, port operations and infrastructure, President Secretariat said in a press release.<\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed the evolving Pakistan\u2013DP World engagement, noting that the recent inter-governmental agreements reflected strong commitment on both sides.<\/p>\n

The president said these initiatives aligned with Pakistan\u2019s objective of positioning itself as a regional trade and transit hub through enhanced connectivity and modern logistics infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem highlighted Pakistan\u2019s strategic geographic location at a time of global uncertainty and stressed that the country occupied a critical position as sea routes faced growing pressures.<\/p>\n

He noted that Pakistan\u2019s direct connectivity with China and Central Asia, combined with its access to the Arabian Sea and its surface connectivity through road and rail networks, placed it at the centre of regional and inter-regional trade flows.<\/p>\n

He said Pakistan served as a natural hub linking key parts of the world by sea and land, and reaffirmed that the UAE would continue to work closely with Pakistan, drawing on decades of a trusted and enduring relationship.<\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s ambassador to the UAE was also present during the meeting.<\/p>\n
