{"id":1152271,"date":"2026-01-27T21:27:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T16:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.app.com.pk\/?p=1152271"},"modified":"2026-01-27T21:27:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T16:27:07","slug":"wasa-launches-rs12-5b-program-to-resolve-sewerage-issues-in-faisalabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.app.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/wasa-launches-rs12-5b-program-to-resolve-sewerage-issues-in-faisalabad\/","title":{"rendered":"WASA launches Rs12.5b program to resolve sewerage issues in Faisalabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">FAISALABAD, Jan 27 (APP):Water &amp; Sanitation Agency (WASA) has formally initiated implementation of a mega development program worth Rs12.5 billion to address long-standing sewerage issues in the city.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">During a meeting on Tuesday, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza briefed the Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar about scope and progress of the project.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that this program would help resolve chronic sewerage and drainage problems on eastern as well as western sides of the city besides significantly improving urban infrastructure and public sanitation.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He informed that upon completion of Punjab Development Program, sewerage and drainage-related problems of more than 70 percent of the city\u2019s residential areas would be resolved.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project includes covering 100 percent of roadside drains, ensuring high-quality desilting of storm water drains and properly covering manholes to enhance safety, hygiene and smooth water flow, he added.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar directed WASA and concerned contractors to carry out work in double shifts to expedite progress. He issued clear instructions that the project must be completed at all costs before the onset of monsoon season.
