ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP):Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, strongly criticized India\u2019s celebration of Republic Day, declaring it a \u201cBlack Day\u201d for the people of Kashmir, and appealed to the international community, U.S. President Donald Trump, and a proposed global \u201cBoard of Peace\u201d to take urgent steps for Kashmir\u2019s inclusion on the global peace agenda and for her husband\u2019s release as a goodwill gesture.<\/div>\n

She said that while India claims to be the world\u2019s largest democracy, Kashmir remains a land of prisons, chains, and denied rights, where the Kashmiri people\u2019s democratic demand for freedom is crushed daily by Indian forces.<\/div>\n

In an exclusive interview with APP, Mushaal Mullick said January 26 symbolized pain and injustice for Kashmiris rather than democracy. \u201cWhere democracy should exist, there are jails; where justice should prevail, there are chains,\u201d she said, adding that Indian forces continue to suppress what she called the Kashmiri people\u2019s legitimate and democratic right to self-determination.<\/div>\n

She welcomed what she termed renewed international efforts for peace, particularly referring to U.S. President Donald Trump and Pakistan\u2019s Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying their joint initiatives under a proposed \u201cBoard of Peace\u201d could become a major step toward global peace and stability.<\/div>\n

MS Mullick claimed that recent diplomatic developments had exposed \u201cthe true face\u201d of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and weakened India\u2019s narrative on Kashmir.<\/div>\n

Praising Pakistan\u2019s military leadership, she said Field Marshal Asim Munir had shown courage and resolve in standing up to India and defending Pakistan\u2019s position on Kashmir. She alleged that India had suffered a humiliating diplomatic and strategic setback despite being a much larger power.<\/div>\n

Mushaal Mullick urged the world community and U.S. leadership to formally include Kashmir in the agenda of any future global peace framework. She proposed the creation of a special \u201cBoard of Peace on Kashmir\u201d to address the long-standing dispute and the humanitarian crisis in the region.<\/div>\n

Making an emotional appeal for her husband, she called for Yasin Mullick\u2019s immediate release as a goodwill gesture to revive the peace process. She recalled that in 2000, global powers, including the United States, had persuaded Yasin Malik to abandon armed struggle and adopt a peaceful, political path. \u201cHe chose the path of peace at the request of the international community,\u201d she said. \u201cToday, I hope those same powers will honor that commitment and restart the peace process.\u201d<\/div>\n

She further said that Yasin Mullick should be recognized as a key stakeholder in any future dialogue on Kashmir and allowed to play a constructive role in promoting peace and reconciliation.<\/div>\n

MS Mullick concluded by reiterating her demand for the freedom of the Kashmiri people and urging the world not to remain silent on what she described as ongoing human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir.<\/div>\n

The statement comes as India marked its 76th Republic Day with military parades and official ceremonies, while protests and symbolic observances were held by Kashmiri groups and activists in different parts of the world to highlight what they call the continued denial of rights and freedoms in Kashmir.<\/div>\n
