ISLAMABAD, Jan\u00a018\u00a0(APP):\u00a0President Asif Ali Zardari, Sunday expressed his deep sorrow over the death of firefighter Furqan Ali, who sacrificed his life during\u00a0a blaze that engulfed\u00a0Gul Plaza in Karachi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The president, lauding Furqan Ali\u2019s professional bravery and sense of duty, said that these were a lofty example of public service, President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0president\u00a0expressed his\u00a0heartfelt condolences to the\u00a0bereaved\u00a0family of Furqan Ali\u00a0and said the nation would\u00a0always remember the sacrifices of its brave sons.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0president\u00a0further stressed\u00a0that fire safety and emergency response systems should be strengthened to prevent such tragedies in the future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also\u00a0instructed the Sindh government to conduct a comprehensive review of safety arrangements in commercial and residential buildings across the province, including Karachi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The president directed the Sindh government to play an active role in the post-incident relief efforts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also asked for\u00a0ensuring\u00a0provision of\u00a0Immediate medical treatment\u00a0to\u00a0the injured and care for the affected families on urgent basis.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
