{"id":1147680,"date":"2026-01-18T15:21:54","date_gmt":"2026-01-18T10:21:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.app.com.pk\/?p=1147680"},"modified":"2026-01-18T15:21:54","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T10:21:54","slug":"pakistan-should-explore-africas-potential-for-exports-and-investmentmalik","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.app.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/01\/18\/pakistan-should-explore-africas-potential-for-exports-and-investmentmalik\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan should explore Africa\u2019s potential for exports and investment:Malik"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>LAHORE, Jan 18 (APP):Former SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) President Iftikhar Ali Malik on Sunday called for a coherent,Africa-focused trade strategy backed by strong public-private collaboration to tap emerging African markets.<\/div>\n<div>In a statement, Malik said that by diversifying exports, fostering long-term partnerships and engaging Africa as a strategic economic partner,Pakistan can unlock new growth drivers, reduce trade imbalances and build a more resilient economy.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cAfrica,with a population exceeding 1.4 billion, a rapidly expanding middle class, and growing demand for consumer goods, offers immense potential for Pakistan, which must be fully exploited,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div>Malik highlighted the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)\u2014the world\u2019s largest free trade area by number of countries\u2014as an opportunity for Pakistan to gain preferential access, reduce tariff barriers, and integrate into regional value chains.<\/div>\n<div>He warned that Pakistan\u2019s export markets remain concentrated in a few regions, leaving the economy vulnerable to external shocks, whereas African markets are seeking affordable, quality products in sectors where Pakistan has a competitive advantage.<\/div>\n<div>Malik also stressed that Africa offers avenues for investment, joint ventures, and technical cooperation.
