PESHAWAR, Jan 15 (APP): Taimoor Hassan, a Pakistani student studying in the United States has developed and officially launched Pakistan\u2019s own Urdu ChatGPT, \u201cQalb\u201d, marking a historic milestone in the country\u2019s digital journey.
\n\u201cQalb is now recognized as the world\u2019s largest Large Language Model created exclusively for the Urdu language,\u201d claims Taimoor in a message shared on Thursday.
\nTaimoor Hassan is a young serial entrepreneur who has successfully launched and exited 13 startups. He is a former winner of the Microsoft Cup and has represented Pakistan at international forums.
\nTaimoor completed his BS in Computer Science from FAAST University Peshawar Campus and is currently pursuing further studies in the United States while working on advanced technology and artificial intelligence projects.
\n\u201cTrained on a massive dataset of 1.97 billion tokens and benchmarked across seven-plus international evaluation frameworks, Qalb outperforms existing Urdu-focused AI models on key real-world performance indicators, setting a new standard for natural language processing in Pakistan,\u201d Taimoor claimed.
\n\u201cThis is a development model and in the next phase we would soon launch App for mobile and web so that people could use and benefit from Qalb ChatGPT,\u201d he told APP.
\nWith Urdu spoken by over 230 million people worldwide, Qalb, Pakistan\u2019s own Urdu ChatGPT bridges the long-standing technological divide by enabling advanced AI solutions in the national language.
\nThe model is designed to support local businesses, startups, educational platforms, digital services, and voice-based AI agents, unlocking limitless opportunities for innovation.
\n\u201cI had the opportunity to contribute in a small way to a much bigger mission for the country,\u201d said Taimoor Hassan currently studying Masters in Computer Science and Software Engineering in Auburn University USA.
\n\u201cTogether with my undergraduate roommates and teammates, Jawad Ahmed and Muhammad Awais, we are committed to continuously fine-tuning localized models for niche industries, which we believe can become a major breakthrough for Pakistan.\u201d
\nBoth Jawad Ahmad and Muhammad Awais are also graduates of FAAST University Peshawar Campus and are now studying in Germany.
