PESHAWAR, Jan 06 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Arshad Ayub Khan has issued a series of directives aimed at improving the performance of the province’s Education Department.<\/div>\n

Chairing a meeting at the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education in Peshawar, the Minister highlighted the need for digitization, enhanced transparency, and increased district-level accountability to elevate the quality of education across the region.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He emphasized the importance of completing the Education Department’s digitization process, which will help improve efficiency and transparency in both educational delivery and administrative functions.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He specifically called on officials to implement effective measures at the district and directorate levels to show visible progress.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Minister instructed district education officers to improve service delivery in their areas and immediately address any deficiencies in educational facilities.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He ordered timely resolution of any issues brought forward by teachers and staff, holding officers accountable for delays in addressing concerns.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
To enhance transparency, the Minister suspended the procurement process for students’ bags and stationery, directing that all future tenders be carried out through e-bidding.<\/div>\n

Furthermore, he announced plans to implement an e-retirement system to resolve retirement-related matters within seven days at the district level.<\/div>\n

As part of the ongoing efforts to improve school infrastructure, Minister Ayub Khan revealed that seven billion rupees would be allocated for the provision of new furniture for schools across the province.<\/div>\n

Additionally, he confirmed the recruitment of approximately 6,000 teachers for summer zone areas over a period of five months.<\/div>\n

In a bid to further engage with the public, the Minister directed officials to resolve public grievances via an online platform, including daily Facebook sessions from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m..<\/div>\n

He emphasized the importance of addressing legitimate issues promptly and politely, while also eliminating the culture of recommendations.<\/div>\n

Ayub Khan reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the dignity and respect for the teaching profession, highlighting its vital role in society.<\/div>\n

He called on all stakeholders to work together to restore public trust in education.<\/div>\n

The Minister concluded by urging all officials to work collectively as a team, supervise ongoing construction projects, and ensure merit-based resolutions in education department litigation cases.<\/div>\n
