ISLAMABAD, Jan 06 (APP):Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Captain (R) Hamzah Humayun called lifter operators and traffic police officers posted at various checkpoints to his office, where he appreciated their effective performance in maintaining smooth traffic flow across the federal capital and awarded them certificates of appreciation.<\/div>\n

An ITP official told APP on Tuesday that the CTO acknowledged the role of traffic officers and lifter staff in ensuring disciplined traffic management, particularly during rush hours, foggy weather and high-pressure situations on major roads.<\/div>\n

The official said CTO Hamzah noted that consistent action against lane violations, wrong-way driving and other traffic offences had significantly improved traffic discipline and reduced congestion at several key points in the city.<\/div>\n

He said the CTO emphasised that the dedication and professionalism shown by traffic police officers reflected a strong sense of public service, adding that their contribution was vital for the safety of commuters.<\/div>\n

CTO Hamzah directed officers to maintain close coordination with subordinate staff and ensure strict legal action against traffic violators without discrimination, the official added.<\/div>\n

The official said special measures were being taken to prevent traffic accidents and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow, while awareness teams of Islamabad Traffic Police were regularly deployed at major intersections to educate citizens about traffic rules and road safety.<\/div>\n

He added that Islamabad Traffic Police continued to provide real-time traffic updates, road safety information and guidance to citizens through FM Radio 92.4 to facilitate commuters.<\/div>\n

The official said Islamabad Traffic Police remained committed to promoting discipline, safety and smooth traffic flow, urging citizens to cooperate with traffic police and follow traffic laws.<\/div>\n
