ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (APP):The M-Tag registration drive in the federal capital has entered its final phase as only 10 days remaining before the deadline and so far, 129,436 vehicles have been issued M-Tags across the city.<\/div>\n

Officials confirmed that registration services were being provided at 16 designated points set up across the city. Due\u00a0to the approaching deadline, these centers were seeing a steady flow of citizens seeking M-Tags for their vehicles.<\/div>\n

According to official figures, 2,982 vehicles were issued M-Tags in the last 24 hours alone. This increase reflects growing public response as the cutoff date draws closer. The Excise and Taxation Department stated that daily registrations have risen compared to previous weeks.<\/div>\n

Director General Excise Irfan Nawaz Memon said that additional staff has been deployed at all M-Tag points to manage the rush. He explained that steps were taken to ensure that citizens do not face delays during the registration process. He added that the department has also increased the stock of M-Tags to meet higher demand.<\/div>\n

Officials said that the registration process requires basic vehicle and owner details and is being completed at designated centers. They stressed that the department is making efforts to keep the process smooth and accessible during the remaining days.<\/div>\n

The DG Excise once again appealed to vehicle owners to ensure that M-Tags are installed on their vehicles by January 15. He warned that after the deadline, vehicles without M-Tags will be stopped at checkpoints across the city. Enforcement measures will begin immediately after the cutoff date, he said.<\/div>\n

Authorities clarified that the campaign aims to bring all vehicles in the federal capital under the M-Tag system. They said the system will help manage traffic flow and vehicle records more effectively.<\/div>\n
