Its 1.64 million deliveries were topped by BYD&#8217;s 2.26 million battery-powered vehicles sold last year, CGTN reported on Saturday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">BYD, an automaker that manufactures both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles, is primarily driven by the growth of its electric vehicle sector. Sales of battery-powered vehicles surged by nearly 28 percent in 2025, significantly contributing to the overall growth of 7.73 percent in all new car deliveries.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">BYD&#8217;s overseas expansion, despite the hefty U.S. tariff, has made ground in Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
