{"id":1139255,"date":"2026-01-01T12:30:36","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T07:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.app.com.pk\/national\/ras-al-khaimah-breaks-guinness-world-record-during-new-year-celebrations\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T12:30:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T07:30:36","slug":"ras-al-khaimah-breaks-guinness-world-record-during-new-year-celebrations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.app.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/01\/01\/ras-al-khaimah-breaks-guinness-world-record-during-new-year-celebrations\/","title":{"rendered":"Ras Al Khaimah breaks Guinness World Record during New Year celebrations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">RAS AL KHAIMAH,Jan 1 (WAM\/APP): Ras Al Khaimah ushered in 2026 with a 15-minute New Year\u2019s Eve spectacle of drones and fireworks, setting a new Guinness World Records title for the largest aerial display of a phoenix formed by multirotor drones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The centrepiece of the celebration was a large-scale drone performance that transformed the night sky into a series of animated formations above the emirate\u2019s waterfront. The highlight was a record-breaking phoenix, a mythical symbol of renewal and rebirth, created using 2,300 drones. These included 1,000 pyro drones that illuminated the phoenix\u2019s wings, creating a flame-like effect as it appeared to soar across the sky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The drone sequence also featured a second formation titled \u201cThe Welcome,\u201d depicting a human figure rising from the sea with open arms, symbolising Ras Al Khaimah\u2019s spirit of hospitality and openness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As midnight approached, the drone show transitioned into a precisely timed fireworks countdown, culminating in a six-kilometre-long display stretching along the coastline from Marjan Island to Al Hamra. Hundreds of fireworks were launched in synchronised waves, lighting up the shoreline in a choreographed display of colour and sound.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thousands of residents and visitors gathered across beachfront resorts and at the New Year\u2019s Eve Festival to watch the celebrations, which also included live stage performances and entertainment throughout the night. Earlier in the evening, families in the emirate enjoyed an additional fireworks display at Corniche Al Qawasim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Phillipa Harrison, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said the celebration was designed to bring the community together while marking a year of progress for the emirate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNew Year\u2019s Eve in Ras Al Khaimah is about bringing people together.
